The fastest way to improve speaking skills is to practice in a safe and supported space!

If you want to be more confident when speaking up in meetings, the key is to cultivate comfort in conversational moments.

Have you been trying to “get better at communicating” but all the books and podcasts only make you trust yourself less?

Are you over-working and over-thinking in meetings instead of focusing on what you want to say?

I’ve spent the past ten years helping thousands of people feel more comfortable communicating and this is what I know to be true—we don’t learn and grow when we feel unsafe and unsupported.

If you’re in an environment where people are talking over each other, fighting to get a word in or interrupting, or if you’ve received intangible feedback, it can be really hard to “get better” at speaking off-the-cuff.

That’s why I created the PresentVoices Collective, my weekly group coaching class designed to help you practice speaking out loud and get more comfortable communicating.

I built the Collective based off of my years doing corporate workshops with organizations of all shapes and sizes. I realized quickly that most people learned best from watching others incorporate feedback and by learning these new tools in a safe and supported space.

I also saw how impactful it was for others to see someone who seems to be comfortable and confident communicating but who may be struggling under the surface.

I created a space where people can practice speaking out loud in a safe and supported way. Each week in my group coaching classes, people get to answer a question off-the-cuff and get live coaching from me in front of the group.

The Collective is only open to people who are taking the PresentVoices course (learn more here) or who have worked with me privately (and here).

Here’s how it works:

  • Being a part of the Collective is a monthly membership price of $99 and you can cancel at any time. It’s only open to those who are taking the PresentVoices course (learn more here) or who have worked with me privately (learn more here). Email me if you are interested in joining us.

  • Once you’re a part of The Collective, you’ll receive invitations to weekly group coaching classes. Currently, the Collective will alternate between Tuesdays post-work ET and Thursdays lunchtime ET. I add more classes based on the size of the Collective membership and change times based on preferences in the group. You’ll be asked to complete a short survey when you join to share your preferences.

  • In each class, you can practice answering a question off-the-cuff or just watch if you prefer. I ask thought leadership or interview-type questions and you can practice integrating the tools you’re learning in the course and coaching. You do not have to have anything prepared, but if you’re preparing for something in particular, you can chat me on Zoom and I will try to tailor the questions you answer. You can always say “next question” or “pass”, no questions asked. You are also welcome to leave your camera off or just watch—bring yourself to the space in any way that makes you feel comfortable.

  • Everyone is asked to keep everything confidential but you are welcome to change your Zoom name and omit any information to help you feel at ease.

I designed the Collective to be a place where everyone can do the work of vocal exploration and liberation—especially those whose voices have been historically marginalized.

I hold a few scholarship spots in my group coaching classes, with priority given to people whose voices have been historically marginalized or those working for social justice. If the Collective monthly membership is not financially accessible for you, apply for a scholarship spot here.

Participants in the PresentVoices Collective commit to the following Community Agreements:

  • We listen with curiosity and respect and make space for voices who have less power and privilege

  • We are committed to anti-racism and gender diversity and to centering those most impacted by oppression and marginalization

  • We work to prioritize our own comfort and physical needs rather than how we’re perceived (feel free to eat, leave your camera off, go to the bathroom, bring your kids, etc.)

  • We promise to keep everything shared in the Collective confidential

  • We strive for presence over perfection

  • We assume positive intentions and call each other in when tensions arise

  • We give ourselves permission to not apologize for things beyond our control
